Enchanted Melodies, An Interactive Fairytale Opera

Event
Information

Through this opera we strive to create increased community interest in live music and theater by making accessible pathways for children to attend their first live performance. Children of all ages are encouraged to participate in our events.

Every person deserves equal access to the arts and a voice in defining their community’s cultural landscape. We strive to unite communities through the arts by making every audience member feel welcome. This can take form in many ways, from the use of non-traditional and public spaces like parks and libraries for performances, to reduced ticket pricing, to sensory-friendly storytelling. Our hope is that audiences leave our shows creatively stimulated and inspired to attend more live performances with their children in the future.

Caleb Yanez Glickman

Praised for his superb leadership of the orchestra, Caleb Yanez Glickman was recently appointed Associate Conductor of Opera Modesto, where he works as an integral part of the music staff bringing opera to California’s Central Valley. His recent music direction of OM’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro was acclaimed by North Bay Stage and Screen as having “precision and cleanliness that made Mozart’s music sound as fresh as the day it premiered.” He worked for several years as the music director of the Hollywood Youth Orchestra, an El-Sistema style youth orchestra program in Los Angeles.

He was music director of Pacific Opera Project’s award winning production of The Pirates of Penzance. Since then, he has led several productions with POP including Scalia/Ginsburg, Trial by Jury, and Die Fledermaus. In addition to POP and Opera Modesto, Caleb has also recently worked with Opera in the Ozarks, Opera Southwest, Opera Saratoga, and Savannah Opera.

Caleb is a zealous advocate of bringing classical music to new audiences. Last year, he was the music director for Opera Modesto’s world premiere production of Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Fallen Giant, an American Lyric Theater Co-commission. Since then, he conducted Lyric Opera of Orange County’s production of William Schuman’s baseball opera, The Mighty Casey. He is also spearheading a project entitled Transport: of a first of its kind double bill of Jake Heggie’s Another Sunrise and Handel’s Judas Maccabeus with The Why Collective in New York.
