About The Event

Fate is Kind, the multi-award-winning cabaret show, was conceived and developed by New York City-based award-winning vocalist, Julie Reyburn and music director, Mark Janas. This evening of cabaret weaves two classic children’s books, “Goodnight Moon” and “The Velveteen Rabbit” along a journey of musical theater and American songbook classics that acknowledges the reality of adulthood by celebrating the child within. From Dar Williams to Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Sondheim, Jimmy Webb, and Frank Loesser come spend an evening celebrating the child within.

Julie is a 4-time MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs), 2-time Bistro award winner, and the first ever Nightlife Award recipient for Outstanding Female Vocalist. She has appeared in numerous New York clubs and venues from Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall and appears as a regular cast member for the award-winning series “Sondheim Unplugged” at 54 Below. Julie is very proud to be a past recipient of the coveted Julie Wilson Award from the Mabel Mercer Foundation “in joyful gratitude for the vocal majesty and lyrical interpretation she continually manifests in her classic presentations of the Great Popular Songbook”. Recordings include: The Broadway Musicals of 1940 (Bayview Records), Fate is Kind and Bistro Award-winning recording, Live at Feinstein’s (American Songbook Records), and 8 Track Throwback with Marquee Five (Cavern Records).
