The Board of Directors of Pine Plains Memorial Hall announced today the appointment of Brian Keeler as Executive Director, reporting directly to the Board. Mr. Keeler will oversee the renovation of Memorial Hall and develop the non-profit organization of the same name that will supply fundraising efforts as well as arts and community programming for the historic building on Church Street in Pine Plains.

Brian served most recently as the Chief of Staff for State Senator Terry Gipson and was the Senator’s liaison for the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council. Previous to his work with Senator Gipson, Keeler founded BK New Media, a communications consulting business, served as the Communications Director for the NYS Senate and was the Vice President of Politics and Advocacy for vShift, a nationally recognized internet communications and marketing company in New York City. He was also a professional stage actor for more than 20 years, as well as a product spokesperson for several nationally-known brands.

“I am excited to be working with PPMH’s board and the Pine Plains community to restore what was once a thriving hub of activity in the heart of their town,” said Keeler. “I’m ready to tackle this challenging project and work with local contractors and residents to make their dreams of the building a reality.”

“Brian is the right person for this job,” said Jack Banning, PPMH’s President. “His knowledge of state and local government and regional economic development opportunities will certainly help move this project forward. His extensive experience in the American theater is an enormous bonus when added to his strong organizational credentials. The people of Pine Plains, northern Dutchess County and the entire region should welcome him aboard and look for ways to pitch in to make this project successful.”
