Stand-Up Downstairs is The Stissing Center’s first performance in their downstairs nightclub space, The Cellar at the Center. Of course, it’s a night of COMEDY featuring Irene Bremis, Cynthia Levin, and Charles McBee. It will be hosted by Pine Plains’ own Rachel Lenihan.

Irene Bremis is a Veteran NYC-based stand-up comedian, writer, actress, and radio personality. She has been featured in numerous comedy festivals, tru tv, Netflix, and more. Irene headlines in clubs nationwide. She was a contributing writer for Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack on Tru TV. And she appeared in a sketch with Rachel Dratch for The Shorty Awards, also featuring Alec Baldwin & Taylor Swift.

Irene’s comedy album Unladylike is available on all platforms and is currently spinning regularly on Sirius XM. And she just recently taped her debut Comedy Special.

After launching a stand-up career that now spans 30 years, Cynthia Levin quickly became a regular at L.A. clubs like The Comedy Store and The Improv, and later at New York City clubs, including The Comic Strip Live and Stand Up NY. Cynthia’s stand-up experience has taken her around the globe, including performances in Latin America, Canada, Asia, and Europe. Some TV credits as a comic include ABC’s, “Comics Unleashed” with Byron Allen, Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd” with Colin Quinn, and B.E.T.’s, Comic View.

Throughout her career, Cynthia has written, produced, directed, and starred in 13 one-woman shows for venues and festivals across North America and the U.K. While also focussing on the creation of original comedic content, including, “Unprepared for Life”, a TV series based on her life, she continues to build her film and series credits as an actor. She has appeared in many films as well as both scripted and unscripted TV series. Most recently, she has been seen on FX Network’s “Legion”, and the TV pilot, “The Mortician’s Daughter”.

Charles McBee has written for several shows including The MTV Music Awards, The Golden Globes, and MTV’s Wild N Out. Currently, he is the Head Writer for the Tha God’s Honest Truth with Charlamagne Tha God on Comedy Central. You can catch Charles making fun of crazy news stories with his comedian friends on The Charles McBee Podcast.

Host Rachel Lenihan is a stand-up comedian, writer, and visual artist based in New York City, but most importantly she went to Stissing Mountain High School and gave swimming lessons at the local Pine Plains Rec Center. Rachel performs regularly at New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club, and was on the writing staff of The Chris Gethard Show on Tru Tv. She was listed in Metropolitan Magazine as a “talented young comedian with tight devastatingly awkward jokes reminiscent of great one-liner comics such as Steven Wright but with a Millennial twist.”
