In the past 10 years, Thor Jensen has traveled a lot of different roads. From chasing buses in a grease powered van, playing Americana music with Quiet Life and opening for the likes of Dr. Dog, Portugal. The Man, The Head and the Heart, and Shovels and Rope. Then onto joining the Stephane Wrembel Band, playing both Stephane’s original music and the music of Django Reinhardt, performing at Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, the Lyon Opera House and touring all over the world, all the while immersing himself in New York’s early jazz scene. He’s toured Europe with world/roots band Hazmat Modine, and dipped back into early jazz a bit with Sweet Megg, with whom he played at The Stissing Center in 2021.

Thor’s new record – “Harlem Valley” – came out in May. It’s a collection of music written while living on a creek just down the road a spell from The Stissing Center, in Wassaic. Joining Thor on stage will be long-time friends and collaborators Nick Anderson and Ari Folman-Cohen.

“A guitar lovers collection, each song is a true masterful work of art. Jensen’s pleasing baritone vocals and sheer talent take you on a soulful ride you won’t soon forget.”
— Sue Menhart, Soundwaves

“There’s no telling what to expect – other than greatness.”
— Rick Koster, New London Day
